All eyes were on Owensboro last night as Former President Bill Clinton visited the city. The 42nd president of the United States came to Western Kentucky to help raise money for the Wendell Ford Government Education Center. The fundraising event was held at the city's RiverPark Center.

Residents paid a thousand dollars a ticket for floor seating, and balcony tickets were sold for as little as $100 a seat for those who just wanted to hear Clinton speak. The former president talked about the state of American politics -- focusing on the idea that legislators are too afraid to stand up for their beliefs and risk backlash.

"There are general and genuine differences -- which give you debates to have -- which are good. But if all you do is fight and you don't ever fix, then you just get stuck in a rut," said the former president.

The Wendell Ford Government Education Center teaches people how the government works and and encourages citizens to participate in the political and governmental process.
