Henderson to Induct First Hall of Fame Class in April

A former governor and a 4-Star Navy Admiral will be among the first to be
inducted into the new Henderson Alumni Hall of Fame in April.
The newly formed group will hold its first induction ceremony on April 13th at Henderson County High School.
The inductees, according to the Alumni Association, were chosen based on their "significant contributions to their chosen professions, academia, and/or community."
Among those in the class are former Kentucky Governor A.B. "Happy" Chandler. Chandler also served as Major League Baseball Commissioner from 1945-1951.
The Hall of Fame is the creation of Gene Peck, an English teacher at Henderson County High School.
"I saw a real need to celebrate the successes of graduates who have gone on to make a significant difference in our world. This vision was shared by the founding Board of Directors: Brad Schneider, Jim Davis, Carol and John Talbert, Brittany Morrison, Doneta Williams, and Tiffany Sights. Henderson County High School's principal, Sally Sugg, has ensured through her support that the Hall of Fame will be a reality that promotes the culture of our schools," said Peck.
