Its rare to hear of environmental groups teaming up with the oil and gas industry, but it's happening in Illinois. Some environmental groups have joined the industry to draft a bill to control hydraulic fracturing state-wide, but the environmental community is split. The Bloomington Pantagraph reports about a dozen groups plan to be in Springfield to lobby for a hold. They say they want a task force to the effects of fracking. But the groups who assisted in writing the bill say the regulations included would be the strictest in the country.
