She's a Hollywood star getting a lot of national attention for politics. Actress Ashley Judd could take on U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell in the Kentucky Senate race. So is the Senate Minority Leader worried about keeping his job? Some say the long time Republican Senator is panicking, because he is getting an early start. His new campaign ad began running Thursday in Louisville and Lexington. Judd, a Democrat, has not officially said she is running, but she is seriously thinking about it.
"People love to chatter about who's going to run and you gotta know that there's some genuine star power when a Hollywood celebrity decides to put her toe in the water. When Wynonna's sister wants to be the U.S. Senator from Kentucky, that's gotta get people talking around the water cooler," University of Evansville Professor of American Politics, Robert Dion said.
Dion says it's remarkable that there has been this much attention to a race that is more than a year away.
