New Area Code Will Be Topic of Public Meeting in Evansville Tuesday

In Evansville on Tuesday, the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission will hold a public meeting on what will happen regarding Indiana's need to create a new area code.
The 8-1-2 area code is running low on available numbers, and a new one will need to be added either through an overlay or a geographic split.
Officials say the meeting is a way for the public to learn about the options available and let your voice be heard.
The hearing will be held at Washington Middle School at 5:30p.m.
