4-Year-Old Killed in Parking Lot

A little girl is dead after being run over in the parking lot of the Jasper K-Mart. Police there tell us 89-year old Jerome Klein had just backed out of his parking space when a family was walking by the now-empty spot. Instead of turning the wheel to get into the driving lane, Klein accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brakes heading back into the space and striking 4-year old Demiah Bottorff. Soon after, Jasper Police got a call that she was trapped under the car. Bottorff later died from her injuries. After hitting the 4-year old, Klein continued to hit two vehicles and a concrete post. Police tell us that Klein was given a blood test. No charges have been filed--but the investigation is underway.
