Man Arrested for Owensboro Shooting

6:30 p.m. Update: Now an update to the shooting in Owensboro. It happened in the backyard of a home in the 1400 block of Jackson Street just after 4:00 Thursday afternoon. Police arrested 48-year-old John Brown on a felony assault charge. They believe he used a .22 caliber rifle to shoot 28-year- old Joshua Mohnen in the stomach after a verbal fight they had. Police say the two men were both intoxicated. Mohnen was taken to the hospital for treatment, but theyre not sure of his condition. Previous Report: Theres been a shooting in the 14-hundred block of Jackson Street in Owensboro. Thats near the intersection with 14th Street. It happened late Thursday afternoon. Police say someone has been taken to the hospital for treatment, but theres no word on who it is or the seriousness of the persons injuries. Officers are still on the scene.
