Update: A standoff in Owensboro ended peacefully.
Police were called out to Bobby Mays house at 2804 West 6th Street around 12:30.
Police say he was threatening to shoot himself with a shotgun.
Officers put Cravens Elementary School on lockdown during the incident.
Mays held police at bay for more than 3 hours.
He did throw a shot gun out the front door.
Police believed its the one he threatened to use on himself, but officers waited to go in.
Mays surrendered to police without problems at around 3:40 and was transported to OMHS for evaluation.

An Owensboro elementary school is under lockdown this afternoon. Police tell us Cravens Elementary school is on lockdown as a precautionary measure. Police tell us a man in a nearby home is armed and threatening suicide in the 2800 block of West 6th Street. Its not believed that anyone other than the man police are talking with is in any danger. Fox 7 News has a crew on the scene and will have updates on www.tristatehomepage.com throughout the afternoon and on Fox 7 News at 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
