FEMA Says No to Flood Relief for Illinois Residents

People in Illinois who lost their home or possessions are once again being told "no" by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The federal disaster agency has denied the states request for help from the floods that swept across southern Illinois in March.
Heavy rains sent rivers and streams out of their banks across the region.
15 counties in the southern third of the state asked for federal help with cleanup and rebuilding.
Hundreds of homes were damaged, 39 were destroyed, and one person died because of the high water.
Illinois Emergency Management officials say theyll conduct their own damage assessment to try and find anything that may have been left off the federal list.
