Obama Campaign Airs Radio Ad Featuring Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel
EVANSVILLE – The Obama campaign today began airing a new radio ad, “Unite Us,” featuring Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel. The ad highlights Senator Obama’s upbringing in a working-class family and commitment to standing up for working families.
“Barack didn’t grow up in a home with a lot of money; he had to work hard and scrimp to get by,” Weinzapfel says in the ad. “So he knows that when milk is $4 a gallon, gas is almost as much and jobs are being sent overseas, it means Washington’s not standing up for working families.
“Barack Obama will. It’s why he’s the only candidate that doesn’t take money from special interest PACs and Washington lobbyists that rig the system against us. And Barack’s got a real economic plan that invests in creating jobs right here.”

Obama: I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.
Obama: All across American, people are hurting. People are working harder for less… it’s harder to save, it’s harder to retire.
Weinzapfel: This is Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel. There’s only one candidate who can unite us, will tell us the truth and bring real change to Washington -- Barack Obama.
Barack didn’t grow up in a home with a lot of money; he had to work hard and scrimp to get by… so he knows that when milk is $4 a gallon, gas is almost as much and jobs are being sent overseas, it means Washington’s not standing up for working families.
Barack Obama will. It’s why he’s the only candidate that doesn’t take money from special interest PACs and Washington lobbyists that rig the system against us.
And Barack’s got a real economic plan that invests in creating jobs right here.
Obama: It’s time to take away tax breaks from companies that ship jobs overseas and use that money to help companies that create jobs here – in America.
Weinzapfel: Barack Obama is change we can believe in.
