(Washington, DC) -- About 71-thousand metal lapel pins featuring Nintendo video game characters are being recalled. The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the Chinese-made pins contain high levels of lead. The pins were sold between April 2004 and November 2007 in Nintendo stores in Redmond, Washington and New York City. The one-to-two-inch pins feature characters including Donkey Kong and Pikachu 1/81/8 PEE-kah-choo 3/83/8. Consumers should stop wearing the pins and contact Nintendo for a free replacement. The company can be reached at 800-431-0971 or online at nintendo.com. (Copyright 2008 by Newsroom Solutions) RNS-04-30-08 0248CDT
