Zoo Director Leaving Now

Dan McGinn will be leaving Mesker Park Zoo much sooner than expected. McGinn said earlier this year that he was going to leave the zoo in August, but the Mayors office says McGinn submitted his resignation Wednesday and it is effective immediately. A release from the Mayors office only says McGinn has moved up his retirement for "personal reasons". McGinn was named interim director of the zoo in 2000 and he was given much of the credit for Mesker Parks turnaround.
