It appears the long-awaited, and often delayed, Owensboro ice arena will become reality.
The city says it will accept a $6.5 million bid from Hartz Construction to begin work on the project.
The new ice arena will be located on Parrish Avenue next to the Sports Center.
The new facility will replace the current ice arena, which is 45 years old.
Construction should begin in two weeks.
