Senator Barack Obama started his day campaigning in Evansville today. The presidential hopeful made an early surprise visit to the University of Evansvilles Ridgeway Center. There he talked with blue collar construction workers. He took aim at Senator Hillary Clintons idea to suspend the federal gas tax, as well. Senator Obama says a short fix to high gas prices is to put an additional stimulus check in the hands of Americans. From U.E.s Ridgeway Center, Senator Barack Obama made another surprise visit in town. The presidential hopeful got a warm welcome from construction workers at the Labor Union on Fulton Avenue. What was supposed to be a breakfast for Vanderburgh County Commissioner candidate Stephen Melcher turned into a meet and greet for Senator Obama. Obama even took time to eat some eggs and sausage with the union members trying to win some extra votes. From there Senator Obama headed for the airport. The rest of his day included stops all across Indiana and North Carolina.
