Absentee Ballots Holding Up Lake County Tally
(Hammond) -- The entire nation is watching Lake County, Indiana tonight.
That county has yet to report any of its primary election results, and might not release the numbers until early Wednesday morning.
The "Northwest Indiana Times" reports a high number of absentee and early-voting ballots are slowing the count.
County elections supervisor Michelle Fajman says more than 11-thousand absentee ballots were cast, nearly triple the countys previous high number.
The Democratic presidential race between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama is close enough that Lake Countys votes could be enough to alter the balance.
