Voters in North Carolina hand Barack Obama a big victory tonight. The Democratic presidential hopeful, handily defeating Hillary Clinton in the states primary. Obama held an election night celebration in Raleigh, and thanked North Carolina voters for their support. Obama said: " You know, some were saying that North Carolina would be a game-changer in this election. But today, what North Carolina decided is that the only game that needs changing is the one in Washington, DC.” Obama said: "Because of you, we have seen that its possible to overcome the politics of division and distraction; that its possible to overcome the same old negative attacks that are always about scoring points and never about solving our problems. Weve seen that the American people arent looking for more spin or more gimmicks, but honest answers about the challenges we face. Thats what youve accomplished in this campaign, and thats how well change this country together." While Obama took North Carolina by a healthy margin, the primary in Indiana tonight was a much closer contest. And, regardless of tonights outcome, both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton say they expect to keep campaigning into June.
