Study Finds That Handshake Key To Job Interview Success
(Iowa City, IA) -- A new study finds that job applicants should brush up on their hand-shaking skills.
University of Iowa business professor Greg Stewart reports in a new study that a, quote, "firm, solid" handshake is more important than dress or physical appearance when it comes to having a successful job interview.
The research is based on mock job interviews done by dozens of Tippie College of Business students in the Iowa City area.
The students also met with trained handshake raters who judged the students on their handshaking abilities.
Details of the study are expected to be released later this year.
