Owensboros International Bar-B-Que Festival kicked off Friday and is expected to draw more than eighty thousand people to the citys riverfront over the weekend. But its not all about the world famous food. Its also a major attraction that draws politicians running for state office. The festivals annual political forum is set for Saturday morning. Theres been talk about both Senator Hillary Clinton and Senator Barack Obama stumping at the riverfront. As of now, theyre only sending representatives, but a surprise visit might not be out of the question. Officials for the festival say Evansvilles Mayor, Jonathan Weinzapfel, will be appear for Barack Obama. Theres no word who might show up for Hillary Clinton. The crowd will enjoy the barbecue chicken, ribs, mutton and of course the famous burgoo when they attend the 30th annual festival. The festival draws in food lovers from all over to cook up award winning goodies and chow down on their favorite barbecue. In addition to all the food, there will be blues, bluegrass and plenty of rock and roll entertainment. The majority of the proceeds go to charity.
