Child Safety Seats Should Be Centered

Updated: May 12, 2008
Child Safety Seats Should Be Centered In Back Seat Child safety seats are at the "center" of a new study. The study conducted by the University of Pennsylvania and Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia suggests placing the safety seats in the center of the back seat could cut infants and toddlers injury risks by nearly half. The researchers examined car crash data from 16 U.S. states and found that children younger than three-years-old were 43-percent less likely to be injured when their seat was fastened in the center of the back seat rather than one of the side seats.
