Record Gas Prices Cant Stop Summer Travel
(Orlando, FL) -- Record high gas prices wont keep Americans from vacationing this Memorial Day Weekend.
Triple-A estimates the number of people traveling over the weekend that kicks off the summer travel season will dip less than one-percent from last year to just under 38-million people.
Triple-As Gregg Glaskoski predicts the overall travel business will be flat this summer.
Considering high gas prices and the weaker economy, Glaskoski says thats encouraging news for the hospitality industry.
Whats good for the travel business isnt always good for the vacationer.
Air fares, rental cars, and budget-level hotels are all more expensive this summer.
