Mailman Attacked With Garden Spade

Man Attacks Mailman With Garden Spade (Indianapolis) -- Authorities say things turned dangerous for one Indianapolis mailman. He was working his route on the west side when he was stabbed and robbed. According to reports the incident happened near a west side apartment building when the postman was about to go inside to deliver the mail. Police say thats when the attacker came over a hill and suddenly started stabbing him with a garden spade. Then the suspect asked him for cash and ran away. The suspect is still on the loose, and the complex manager says they plan to send out a flyer to residents in hopes that they can get a few clues that will lead them to him. He also said that for the past few weeks a man with a similar description to the attacker had been hiding around the complex. They describe him as a black man in his 20s and about six-feet tall with a medium build and curly hair. He was last seen wearing a black stocking cap, red and black shirt and black pants.
