A tri-state solider who was killed serving in Iraq has received a special honor.
Timothy Fulkerson was just 20 years old when he died.
Fulkersons family shed tears, but felt honored as their son was remembered as a hero.
A section of U.S. 231 from the Daviess County/Ohio County line to Owensboros Burlew Avenue is now known as the "Specialist Timothy Adam Fulkerson Memorial Highway".
State Senator David Boswell sponsored the bill and Governor Steve Beshear was on hand to sign it Wednesday.
The highway is just one honor among the many Fulkerson has received during his military career.
He has also been awarded a bronze medal and a purple heart.
