Sports Tournaments Could Be Affected by Closure

The Executive Inn is booked full this weekend for the fast-pitch softball state tournament. The championship is at the Jack C. Fisher Park. The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has already committed to having it there next year. With the Executive Inn closing, getting a hotel room is going to be a nightmare that could have this tournament thinking about other locations. The Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer reports sports tournaments are expected to bring 1,077 teams and 45,830 players and fans from across the country to town this summer.
