Price Of Gas Could Rise 30 Cents A Gallon (Washington, DC) -- Brace yourself for even more bad news about gasoline prices. Analyst Trilby Lundberg, editor of the nationwide Lundberg survey, says the price for a gallon of gas could increase by 30 cents in the next few weeks if crude oil prices stay around 139 dollars a barrel. The automotive group Triple-A reports the current national average price of a gallon of regular gas hit a record high of just over four dollars. Diesel prices are four-dollars-76-cents a gallon, just a few pennies shy of the record set in May. Average gas prices have risen about one dollar over the past year, forcing budget-conscious Americans to cut back on their summer vacation plans. Gas prices are directly influenced by crude oil prices. Oil sold Friday for 139 dollars a barrel. (Copyright 2008 by Newsroom Solutions) RNS-06-09-08 0247CDT
