Too much noise is causing a city to rethink a local ordinance. The Henderson city commission met Tuesday to discuss whether music coming from downtown needs more regulation. Mayor Tom Davis says the city commission is considering not allowing any sound level over 80 decibels from local bars between seven in the morning until ten at night. Then allowing sound only as loud as 75 decibels after ten at night. Elaine Cummings says she lives across the river in Vanderburgh county and finds the noise disturbing. In the end the commission says it still needs to look at more facts before making a final decision. According to information at the meeting 80 decibels is about as loud as an alarm clock or a busy street.
