More Than 6,000 Apply For Federal Aid (Indianapolis) -- More than $9 million in individual federal aid has been approved for 6500 Indiana victims of flood and storms who have filled out applications. The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened an Indianapolis office to coordinate staff in the 30 counties that have been approved for the assistance. President Bush added Gibson and Posey counties in Southwest Indiana to the list on Tuesday. Applications for federal aid can be found online at www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA. Agricultural relief is also available through the USDA. That agency has issued a report estimating nine-percent of corn and soybean, and five-percent of winter wheat crops have been flooded in Indiana.
