Pitbull Ban Debate

Families complaining about attacks at the hands of the animals started the discussion.
Everyday workers at the Owensboro Humane Society take Dozier on his daily walk. They describe him as a kind, gentle dog who because of his breed is getting a bad rap.
Dozier and Rngo are just two of three pitbulls in the facility who could be banned if a measure under consideration by the county is passed.
A ban discussed at the last fiscal court meeting after two families came forward to speak about two incidents of attack.
One family had a poodle that was attack while they were walking by a pit bull.
When it tried to get away from the pit it ran into the street and was killed by an autombile.
That along a pit bull chasing indicent has put the spotlight on the breed.
Categorizing it in some minds as an animal that is a danger to the community
County officials say it will take a few weeks before they decide what action the county will take on the ban.
