Owensboro Firefighters File Suit

More than 100 active and retired Owensboro firefighters filed suit claiming they were not paid overtime.
They say the City has been miscalculating overtime pay rates since 1999, shortchanging them at least $1000 in pay annually.
The lawsuit follows a separate complaint that the City improperly included state incentive pay for firefighters when calculating overtime rates. The president of the Owensboro Firefighter Union, Dan Bennett, says they all love their jobs but they just want to get paid for the hours they worked.
Mayor Tom Watson has declined to comment on the litigation.
