State Treasurer Richard Mourdock presented the one thousand dollar award to 7th grader, Michael Sybert.
He was voted for his leadership in the classroom and his skills in art.
Sybert is also deaf.
The College Choice Future Leader award is presented each month to one student in grades four through eight who possess the qualities to become a leader.
