The mayor of Henderson spoke out about how he and the city are going to cope with this disaster.
He says the police are taking care of the technical investigation, but the community will need to help heal those affected by the tragedy.
Mayor Tom Davis says he really felt the weight of the situation when he went to the site.
He says as it sunk in, he felt shock and feeling of emptiness.
Davis says he knows the Atlantis Plastic Company has to follow their own protocol, but he is also making all the city governments resources available to anyone who needs them.
The Mayor said Wednesday, "I met with the plant manager this morning. I offered any kind of assistance, whether it be counseling for employees who were on site, family members of the deceased, whatever, because we do have a program through the Justice Department that coordinates through our police department that would make counselors available for trauma and grief, whatever we need to do."
Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel called Mayor Davis and offered them assistance.
