breaking news
Emotions were running high at a vigil held Wednesday night outside the Henderson County Courthouse.
Members of the community, whether they knew the victims or not, hugged each other and prayed together.
Judge Executive Sandy Watkins offered words of comfort.
He read aloud the names of those killed and made a personal reference to supervisor, Kevin Taylor.
Watkins married Taylor and his wife, Sarah.
Atlantis employee Megan Viars attended the vigil.
She was at work Tuesday night when the shooting began.
She and other co workers ran for cover when they heard the shots and made their way outside.
She became overwhelmed with emotion when talking about her supervisor.
Both the Mayor and County Judge Executive have offered assistance to the company.
Counselors are already assisting employees as well as police officers who were at the scene.
