breaking news
Four people are recovering in Daviess County, Indiana from injuries suffered when a car crashed into a nursing home.
It all happened when 71 year old Carroll Ledgerwood put his car into what he thought was drive but was actually reverse.
This caused him to go backwards, crashing into a brink wall and 83 year old Albert Gilbert.
The Loogootee nursing home staff say Gilbert suffered a fractured hip.
He is now in Deaconess Medical Center in stable condition.
Three others residents were also treated and released.
Daviess County Sheriff Steve Cox says for now Ledgerwood is not being charged.
He says they believe it was an accident that could have happened to anyone.
Loogootee nursing officials say they are offering counseling to patients and staff to help them deal with the accident.
