April 20 Update- Authorities released the three people who were arrested earlier this week and charged with keeping children in a filthy house. Kevin and Laura Winsett and Robin Robinson were ordered back in court June First. Officers say they found dirty clothes, rotten food, roaches and other unsanitary conditions in their home Monday. One officer calls it the worst case of its kind he has seen. April 18-Rosie Roberts lives above the apartment police have called the dirtiest theyve ever seen. Its her sister, brother-in-law, and niece who have been arrested and charged with neglect after a 5 month old boy and 2 year old girl were found living in the squalor. Roberts told Fox 7 that her niece Robin Robinson is to blame for the filth in the downstairs apartment. Robinson is the mother of the two young children. Rosie Roberts says her sister Laura Winsett and brother-in-law Kevin Winsett are both disabled, and were not able to pick up after Robinson and her children after they moved into the home in November of 2006. Investigators say they found trash, rotten food and roaches all over the floors of the downstairs apartment. They also reportedly found a butcher knife on the kitchen floor. Rosie Roberts was actually looking after her grand-niece and grand-nephew when police raided the duplex. Officers took the kids from her apartment, and said Roberts home was also filthy. Both kids have been removed from the home at 611 E. Franklin, as well as a 16 year old autistic girl who lived there. Rosie Roberts says she was looking after them because her sister and niece were fighting, and she wanted to take the kids "out of a violent situation." She disputes the description of her own home, but said shes glad the children are all safe in foster care.
