Life Jacket From Titanic Sold At Auction
(New York, NY) -- One of the cork-filled life-jackets from the Titanic has been sold at auction by Christies for 68-thousand-500-dollars.
The preserver is thought to have been found by a farmer on the shorelines of Halifax in 1912.
The jacket sold in New York was unused and is believed to be one of the six remaining ones from the ship that sank after hitting an iceberg.
The preserver had been projected to bring in between 60-thousand to 80-thousand-dollars at auction.
Thats still not as much as another preserver from the Titanic yielded at auction last year.
The sale of that life jacket in London went for 119-thousand-dollars.
