Shutting down one of the spans of the twin bridges this summer could drive Henderson shops out of business.
Kentucky Governor Ernie Fletcher says hes heard those concerns.
Now hes asking engineers to take another look at plans to paint and repair the spans.
The work is desperatly needed on the north bound stretch... which was built in 1935.
Engineers may employ special rigging that would allow them to paint and keep all 4 lanes open, but that could add up to 10 million dollars to the total project cost.
Theyll meet with local leaders Monday to try to reach a compromise on the project.
