An Owensboro manufacturing plant has been forced to lay off 103 employees.
Thats about one third of their staff. The Dana Corporation makes frames for Toyota Tundra trucks and Sequoia SUVs. With soaring gas prices, people arent buying as many trucks and SUVs. The Tundra and Sequoia only get about thirteen city miles per gallon. As Toyota cuts production on these vehicles, Dana is forced to cut jobs. The plant is completely cutting one of two shifts. These lay-offs come on the heels Owesnboro’s Executive Inn closing. That closing left more than 200 people unemployed.
