Overnight lane restrictions on the Twin Bridges is starting earlier at night.
Crews will shut down one lane on each of the bridges at 7 p.m.
The new evening shift will run until 6 a.m.
Because of the volume of traffic on Fridays, crews will wait until 8 p.m. to start.
The changes will allow contractors an extra 17 hours a week of off-peak working time.
Highway officials say other measures will be announced in the next two weeks to further reduce the need for daytime lane restrictions.
