A property owner whose home is just outside Evansville city limits says he wants something done about his neighbors noisy dogs. John Wahnsiedler says his neighbor owns at least ten dogs, and they often bark for long periods at all times of the day. Wahnsiedler says hes tried to deal with the problem as best he can, but with a five-year-old son and a two-week-old daughter at home, the barking can get overwhelming - and he says theres really nothing he can do about it, "Theres not a law on the books for Vanderburgh County as far as animal control and dogs barking." Thats why Wahnsiedler thinks its so important for county commissioners to pass some kind of ordinance. He knows breeders dont want a new law on the books, but says theres another side to the situation, "Youre left helpless. They basically say you have to deal with it, but youre stuck with it." As of Tuesday night, Vanderburgh County Commissioners have decided to indefinitely table a proposed ordinance. The measure would have held nuisance animal owners accountable for their pets.
