High gas prices are changing the way a lot of us do business, even the state police.
Kentucky State Police along with other local agencies will begin Operation Safe Check this weekend.
It was created to offset the impact of high fuel costs in the commonwealth by conducting more checkpoints between the fourth of July and Labor Day weekend.
Lt. David Crafton says there will be more checkpoints and fewer patrols, but you will still see some roaming officers.
Operation Safe Check will have more than 200 road checks statewide.
Everyone who drives through the checkpoint will be expected to show a drivers license and proof of insurance.
