EVSC Wants Bertram as Next Super

The EVSC school board has begun contract negotiations with the man they want to fill the top spot in the district. They met behind closed doors today to discuss it, then made a formal motion to begin contract negotiations with Dr. Vince Bertram as soon as possible.
Dr. Bertram is currently Assistant Superintendent in Lafayette, Indiana. He visited Evansville Friday with his family. Dr. Bertram toured schools and even spoke to the media Friday, something no other candidate has done.
Bertram is pursuing a Masters in Urban Education from Harvard.
If he accepts the offer, he will likely be given a 3 year contract.
The Lafayette Journal Courier reported Friday that Bertram is also under consideration for a central office job at an undisclosed large urban school district outside of Indiana.
