Todays city election in Evansville was not without controversy. An investigation is under way right now into alleged *improper* campaigning on the part of a democrat city council candidate. Voters heading in to the 86 polling places across Evansville were handed all kinds of promotional material today... but at least a hand-ful of those casting ballots in the 2nd ward say something was very wrong with a flyer for democrat city council candidate Stephanie Terry. The hand out thats getting all the attention tonight is headlined *preferred* democrats... and has Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel, City Clerk Alberta Matlocks names at the top. Then in large print, it lists democrat 2nd Ward Candidate Stephanie Terrys name... followed by At Large Council incumbents Keith Jarboe and Curt John. To the untrained eye it doesnt look so bad...but County Clerk Susan Kirk says Terry never turned in paperwork saying these fellow politicians agreed to be listed with Terry. The process is known as slating and could get Terry in quite a bit of trouble.
