Pygmy Rattle Snake Bites Man In Wal-Mart Garden Center
(Pembroke Pines, FL) -- A man is recovering after being bitten by a pygmy rattle snake at a South Florida Wal-Mart.
Authorities say the 42-year-old was in the garden center at the store in Pembroke Pines when the snake attacked his right hand.
He was transported to the hospital and given antivenom as a precaution.
The snake was destroyed by workers before rescue crews could arrive.
The man is expected to be okay.
Pygmy rattlers are one of six venomous snakes found in the Sunshine State.
