Police Need Help in Attempted Kidnapping

Probe continues into attempted kidnapping (Terre Haute) State police in Terre Haute said today theyre seeking the publics help in solving a reported attempted kidnapping that occurred in southwest Vigo County over the weekend. It reportedly happened about 5 p.m. Sunday when an unidentified man used a stun gun on a 22-year-old woman entering her vehicle in the parking lot of the Garden Quarter Apartments. The suspect then ordered the victim to drive when he was unable to remove her because of a stuck seatbelt. The woman reportedly fled after she stabbed the suspect several times with a knife as the vehicle proceeded on Carlisle Street toward Jessica Drive. The suspect then also fled the vehicle, police said. The suspect is described as white, mid to late 20s, five-feet-10, 210 pounds, with short dark brown hair, and possible facial hair on the lower chin. He was wearing a red T-shirt with unknown logo, khaki shorts, sunglasses and tan flip-flop type sandals. He may also have multiple stab wounds to the hands, right leg and abdomen A vehicle believed to be that of the suspect was reportedly found in the attack area. The vehicle is described as a medium blue Mitsubishi convertible with a black temporary (paper) plate in the rear window and an unknown type of novelty plate attached to the front bumper.
