The USS Longshaw sank in Okinawa, Japan sixty-two years ago, and on Thursday survivors gathered on-board the LST 325 to commemorate the anniversary. They gather every year to on the anniversary of the day - May 18th - their ship was attacked and sank in Okinawa, Japan. Joe Schneider has organized the reunions for the last five years, but these reunions have been going on for more than twenty. He says, "Theres two ships involved. The USS Longshaw which was sunk and the Arikara which is the boat that came to pull us off the reef." The men say getting together every year is extremely meaningful. Schneider say, "These guys are my brothers. I want to keep seeing them till we meet each other upstairs on the great ship up there." The group plans to have next years reunion in Washington, DC.
