The calls help explain how officials at first said everyone got out of the Lakeside Manor apartments near Green River and Lynch -- only to find out later that Bill Barning died in the very apartment where the fire started. Investigators say we might never know exactly what caused the fire. We believe the very first call to come into 911 came from Barning himself. Friday we got a copy of all the calls made to dispatch during the fire - including the call from 5326 Heron Court the apartment where fire investigators now believe the fire started and where the body of barning was found. Dispatch: Were getting a call its an apartment on Heron Court. The first calls started rolling into to dispatch around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. Dispatch: Deputies are advising there is heavy smoke An apartment in the senior community was on fire. The very first call came from 5326 Heron Court. We now believe it came from the one person who did not survive the fire - 64 year old Bill Barning. He tells dispatch his apartment is on fire and he cant get out, but is somewhere near the bathroom. That is where his call ends. Fire investigators now say the fire began in the bathroom wall. On top of putting out the fire rescue crews were working to make sure everyone was safe. Dispatch: Central Dispatch. Caller: On the fire out here the guy that called in at 5326? Did he give his address or did it pop up as the phone call? Dispatch: Thats where it showed on the phone call. Caller: Okay did he give a name? Dispatch: Uh it shows the wink residents on the phone he didnt give his name though Caller: It says the who? Dispatch: The WINK residence. W-I-N-K. Clarence Wink. Caller: Okay. Thats what I needed to know. That is one of two calls crews made back to dispatch to find out who the man was that called the fire in first. Dispatch: The call taker said she thought it was a male subject but they were gasping for air so she might be wrong. So. Caller: Wow. I hope he survived. Dispatch: Yeah.
