Police Arrest Jasper Man for Selling Stolen Items from Jasper Engines and Transmissions on eBay
Early Tuesday morning Indiana State Police arrested 34-year-old Charles E. Swank II for allegedly stealing numerous mechanical, industrial and tool and die parts from Jasper Engines and Transmissions in Jasper. Swank, who is a Quality Control Manager, was arrested at the plant without incident. Indiana State Police Detective Dave Price launched a criminal investigation on May 11th after receiving information from corporate personnel at Jasper Engines and Transmissions that inventory was being stolen and they suspected one of their own employees. During the course of the investigation, a manager from Jasper Engines and Transmissions visited the eBay website and recognized some of their inventory was being sold by an individual from Jasper. Further investigation identified the seller as Swank. After arresting Swank, Indiana State Police executed a search warrant at Swank’s residence and recovered numerous items that had been stolen from Jasper Engines and Transmissions. Swank was taken to the Dubois County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
