breaking news
Hurry up and wait- thats what drivers did Thursday morning crossing the north bound twin bridges. Lane restrictions brought on by bridge repairs are adding to rush hour delays.
Some commuters made it across with little or no delay today heading north. But those who came across during the morning rush hour waited for upwards of an hour.
Those delays are being blamed on the sheer volume of cars headed into Indiana from Kentucky and newness of these lane restrictions.
At its peak today traffic was backed up more than 3 miles from the actualy bridge.
More restrictions are coming. Starting Sunday, the south bound bridge will go from 2 to 3 lanes... handling 2 south bound lanes and 1 north bound.
Add to that mix a slower speed limit, and traffic cross overs... and the savvy driver will add extra time to a rush hour commute.
Police are watching for speeders in the work zone... so watch the lead foot as you cross in either direction.
