Evansvilles animal control board rules chickens can stay at a downtown residence.
Neighbors of this house at 719 Southeast Riverside filed complaints after the owners started housing pet chickens.
Neighbors say the owners are violating the citys animal ordinance but today the board said the chickens can stay at least for now.
"Im not against chickens. I just want to be able to go in my backyard, and not deal with the mess, rodent, and other things sometimes they attract," says neighbor Bill Bryant.
Neighbors say the chickens are a nuisance that are bringing down property values in the area.
