THE MAYOR CAN CROSS ONE MORE EYESORE OFF HIS LIST OF DELAPIDATED EVANSVILLE PROPERTIES. THIS MORNING, CREWS TORE DOWN AN OLD BAR ON GOVERNOR STREET. ITS PART OF THE CITYS FRONT DOOR PRIDE PROGRAM THATS TARGETING ABANDONED BUILDINGS FOR REUSE, OR THE WRECKING BALL. FOX SEVENS KELLI CARLISLE EXPLAINS WHY THE BUILDING GOT TOP BILLING AMONG THE NEARLY 30 PROPERTIES SLATED FOR DEMOLITION. ROGER LEHMAN TELLS US THE CITY COULD NOT GET THE OWNER OF THE OLD BAR TO TEAR DOWN THE BUILDING. ONCE THE LOT IS CLEARED, A LIEN WILL BE PLACED ON THE PROPERTY TO COVER THE COSTS OF DEMOLITION.
