The president of the Goosetown Neighborhood Association may not get the chance to run in the November election.
Fred Cook filed his papers in may to run as an independent for 4th ward city council seat in Evansville.
Now, a felony conviction from 1966 has booted him from the ballot.
The election board ruled Thursday that cook is not eligible to seek office.
Cook defended himself late last night, saying the conviction for armed robbery happened when he was a juvenile.
Cook was facing incumbent democrat Connie Robinson in the November 6th election.
